Just living that glamorous writer’s life 😆 In case Just living that glamorous writer’s life 😆 In case it wasn’t clear, when I say he kicked me out, that’s a *good* thing! There’s no bigger relief when you’re staring down a deadline than to be told your coparent is taking over at home and all you need to do is go work ❤️

Last night was a great reminder that community is Last night was a great reminder that community is everything. I had such an amazing time being surrounded by incredible readers, writers, and booksellers. The conversation covered favorite tropes, found family, imposter syndrome, and patriotic vaginas (iykyk). And yes, there was a question about genAI, because there always is these days, but I was so inspired by the thoughtful answers and reactions that prompted. We’re all just out here hoping for human connections, and I love us for it.

So many thanks to Hilary and all the wonderful folks at @bnwoodbridgeva for hosting us, y’all are incredible!

✨ Nettie Finn, the reason this series was ever published
✨ Sara La Cotti, Allison Ziegler, and the entire @minotaur_books team for the extraordinary work they do
✨ The Bluebird Writers, the Busy Moms Writers Group, @sinccentralva & @sincworldwide, because community is so essential in this business

✨ My in-laws, who are beyond supportive

To all the moms facing daily challenges and heartb To all the moms facing daily challenges and heartbreak that many of us can only imagine, who are out there fiercely loving and advocating for their children when motherhood looks nothing like what they imagined: your kids are so lucky to have you. Happy Mother’s Day.
Hoping to see some of your lovely faces around Vir Hoping to see some of your lovely faces around Virginia, Maryland, and NYC during the next few months!
📚
This weekend, I’ll be heading to #MaliceDomestic in Bethesda, where I’ll be on a panel with some amazing other #historicalmystery authors talking about the 1920s, as well as signing copies of both Lily Adler and Nightingale mysteries.
📚
Next week will be my first time heading to the @mysterywritersofamerica Edgar Week Symposium, where I'm nominated for The Simon & Schuster Mary Higgins Clark Award. I'll be on a panel talking about all things research. (Obviously my favorite thing.)
📚
In May, I'll be celebrating the paperback release of Last Dance Before Dawn. Stay tuned for online events plus how to help spread the word and celebrate the last installment of this series. ❤️
📚
And finally, in June I'll be heading to @bnwoodbridgeva for an authors panel pulled together by the incredible @ellecosimano.
📚
Can’t wait to see you there! xoxo
I truly can’t say enough good things about the inc I truly can’t say enough good things about the incredible community of readers and writers who came together at the Crozet Book Fest last weekend. It was such a gift to see old friends, meet new ones, and talk with so many thoughtful, creative, wonderful people. I can’t wait to do it all again next year!
